DHZ Electric Motorcycle Maintenance Guide

Regular maintenance helps keep your DHZ electric motorcycle safe, reliable and ready to ride. Although electric motorcycles have fewer engine-related servicing requirements, their brakes, tyres, chain, wheels, suspension and electrical components still need regular attention.

This guide covers routine care across the DHZ electric motorcycle range. Follow the instructions and specifications applicable to your bike. Tyre pressures, chain adjustment, tightening torques, brake fluids and component servicing requirements may differ between models.

Before Every Ride

Check the following before riding:

Brakes: Both brakes operate correctly, with no visible leaks, damage or excessive wear.

Tyres and wheels: Tyres are in good condition and inflated to the correct pressure. Check wheels, spokes where fitted, and wheel fixings for damage or looseness.

Chain and sprockets: Check chain condition, lubrication, alignment and adjustment against the instructions for your bike.

Steering and controls: Steering moves freely, the throttle returns correctly, and levers and switches operate properly.

Fasteners: Check for loose or missing fixings, particularly around the handlebars, wheels, footrests, suspension and sprockets.

Frame and suspension: Check for cracks, damage, unusual movement or fluid leaks.

Battery and wiring: Check that the battery is secured and that accessible cables, connectors and covers show no obvious damage.

Do not ride if a fault could affect safe operation. Contact MONO MOTO if you are unsure.

After Every Ride

Remove dirt and mud using a slightly damp cloth and cleaning methods suitable for your bike. Avoid spraying water directly onto the bike or battery area. Do not use a pressure washer.

Dry the bike and inspect it for damage, loose parts and unusual wear. Clean and lubricate the chain as required, keeping lubricant away from brake discs, brake pads and tyres.

If the bike becomes wet, dry it thoroughly before charging. Wet, muddy, dusty or demanding riding conditions require more frequent inspection and maintenance.

After First Use

Recheck accessible fasteners, paying particular attention to the footrests, suspension mountings, motor mountings, sprocket and wheel fixings.

Check the chain adjustment and inspect the wheels and spokes where fitted. Tighten components only to the correct specifications. Have a suitably qualified technician carry out any adjustment you cannot complete correctly.

Regular Maintenance and Servicing

Inspect and maintain your bike regularly. Check the brakes, tyres, wheels, spokes where fitted, chain, sprockets, steering, suspension, fasteners and accessible electrical connections for wear, damage or looseness.

Clean, lubricate, adjust or replace components as required, following the specifications applicable to your bike. Have servicing and repairs carried out by a suitably qualified technician where specialist knowledge or tools are required.

Increase the frequency of checks and maintenance with heavy use or riding in wet, muddy or dusty conditions. Do not continue riding with a fault that could affect safe operation.

Switch the bike off before carrying out maintenance. Follow the applicable isolation instructions and keep hands, clothing and tools clear of moving components.

Battery and Charger Care

Use only the supplied charger or a replacement approved for your model. Check the charger, plug and cables for damage before use. Do not use a damaged charger.

Charge in a dry, well-ventilated location away from direct sunlight, combustible materials and extreme temperatures. Follow the charging instructions applicable to your bike. Do not leave charging unattended or overnight.

Avoid completely draining the battery or leaving it fully charged for extended periods.

Do not charge or use a battery showing damage, swelling, leakage, unusual heat or an unusual smell. Stop using the bike and contact MONO MOTO. Do not open, puncture, modify or attempt to repair the battery.

Storage

Clean and dry the bike before storage and keep it in a secure, dry location away from direct sunlight.

For storage longer than two weeks, keep the battery at approximately 50–70% state of charge. Store in a cool, dry place, ideally between 10–25°C, avoiding extreme heat or freezing temperatures.

Check the battery periodically and recharge at least once every 2–3 months during extended storage, maintaining the recommended 50–70% storage charge level. Avoid leaving it fully charged or completely discharged for extended periods.

Complete the pre-ride checks before returning the bike to use.

Maintenance Records

Keep a record of servicing, repairs and replacement parts, including:

Date and riding hours or kilometres, where available.
Checks and work completed.
Parts and fluids used.
The person or business that performed the work.

You will need to provide your maintenance records and any relevant servicing receipts as part of the DHZ manufacturer’s warranty assessment process. These help establish the bike’s maintenance history and assess the reported fault.
